Fighting the Spammers

I'm going to open the message board to new registrations soon and record the IP numbers of spammers. I'm hoping I'll see patterns so I can start banning IP ranges to control the problem. Something needs to happen. The spam attacks lately are fierce.

I've allowed new registrations and the spammers are back in force. I'm recording IP numbers and trying to look for patterns to ban.

I'm having some success in my attempts to stop spammers. I was upset today to see porn spam on this message board. I'll have to keep watching for IP addresses to ban.

I'm reading some tips on stopping the software spammers use. I've put one tip into action this morning. I'm going to study another tip this week and try that too. The spam attacks are getting so bad that something has to be done.

I found some time this morning and put the second tip into action. With these 2 new measures I'm going to watch the forum for a week and see if spam reduces. The important thing is to not lose hope. Spammers really want you to lose hope - and buy things. That too.
