Kamen Rider Black
Kamen Rider best translates to "masked rider." Kamen Rider Black first aired in October, 1987 and concluded in October, 1988 lasting 51 episodes.
Minami Kotaro and Akizuki Nobuhiko were both born on the day of a solar eclipse. 3 years later, Kotaro’s parents are murdered by members of a secret organization called Gorgom. Kotaro is adopted by the Akizuki family and grows up with Nobuhiko. On their 19th birthday both boys are kidnapped by Gorgom and taken to their hideout where they are both turned into cyborgs. Kotaro is given the name Black Sun and Nobuhiko becomes Shadow Moon.
Gorgom’s plan was to brainwash both cyborgs and make them fight each other to the death. The survivor would be named Century King and lead Gorgom in its conquest of the world. That plan is thrown off track when Kotaro is aided by his foster father and escapes before the brainwashing can take place. Nobuhiko, however, is not so lucky. Kotaro takes the name Kamen Rider Black and vows to stop Gorgom’s planned conquest and rescue Nobuhiko.
Kamen Rider Black
In combat, Kamen Rider Black is strong and fierce and can fire a blast of energy from his belt called the "King Stone Flash." He can also see in the dark, hear sounds from a long way away and detect opponents who move so quickly they can’t even be seen. Kamen Rider Black was the first Kamen Rider to not wear a scarf.
In the first episode we see an early version of Kamen Rider Black called Grasshopper Man.
Battle Hopper is a living machine that can talk and heal damage to itself. Gorgom built the Battle Hopper but Kamen Rider Black stole it when he fled Gorgom’s hideout. It can come whenever Kamen Rider Black calls it.
The Road Sector is a high performance motorcycle built by professor Yoichi to battle Gorgom. Its max speed is 980 kmph and only Kamen Rider Black can handle it. It has a shield that can be raised for ramming opponents. Like Battle Hopper, it can come when called.
Despite being Kotaro’s friend and foster brother growing up, Nobuhiko is brainwashed and assumes the identity of Shadow Moon. He is Kamen Rider Black’s rival for most of the series.
